Earlier, under the Anime category (Dramatic Intro Expected 😉), I explained to you why Anime is not just a children's show and also have given you a recommendation list of Anime shows as a starter pack.

If you are still feeling hesitant to indulge in binge-watching episodes after episodes and seasons after seasons of Anime shows then don't worry, I am here once again (Savior Background Score Expected 😃) to help you out!

In this article, we shall look at 5 Anime Movies which are fully packed with beautifully crafted stories and expertly animated scenes to fill you with all sorts of emotions. So without any further ado, let's dive into the list!!

1) Grave of the Fireflies

I can't start listing Anime movies without talking about this epic heart-touching movie. Set off in the period of the Second World War, the movie depicts the struggle of the siblings: Seita and his sister Setsuko. The chances of them surviving were already slim and you probably by now could predict how the movie would end. It perfectly depicts how war destroys people's lives and their livelihood and how it brings only tragedy to everyone. This war animation movie is a must-watch for everyone coz it shows the bitter truth that we all don't live in the same world!

2) Your Name

Makoto Shinkai definitely knows the pulse of the audience as his movies speak for itself. Because it's a shortlist, we can't add all of his works but I definitely recommend you, people, to search for his works and watch all of them. Coming to the story, Mitsuha Miyamizu is a high school girl living in the town of Itomori in Japan's mountainous Hida region. She is bored with country life and wishes to be a handsome boy in her next life. She begins to switch bodies intermittently with Taki Tachibana, a high school boy in Tokyo when they wake up. They communicate by writing messages on paper, on their phones, and sometimes on each other's skin. Slowly they fall in love with each other but one day the body-switching ends. Later Taki discovers that the girl he loved and the town she lived in was destroyed three years back being struck by a comet. Disappointed to hear all of this, he does one final attempt to save the girl and the town. How did he do it and was he successful in proposing to her is a mystery for you to solve by watching this movie!

3) A Silent Voice

"Whatever you do, it will come back to you in one form or the other", "Karma is Everywhere"; The movie depicts these sayings with a wonderfully crafted story. Even Makoto Shinkai, the writer & director of "Your Name" got jealous of this wonderful movie. The plot includes Japanese teenager Shoya Ishida who bullied a new student named Shoko Nishimiya after she informed the class that she is deaf. As karma says, his actions came back to bite him and later haunt him. After a tragic start to their relationship in elementary school, as fate has for them, they meet once again and form a steady relationship. How things turn from there is for you to know!

4) Wolf Children

Ever wondered how difficult it is for a Mother to raise children. This movie blends all the elements perfectly. As per the story, a college student in Tokyo, Hana falls in love with an enigmatic man. The man reveals that he can transform into a wolf, and they later have two wolf children: a daughter, Yuki, and a son, Ame. Soon after, their father is killed in an accident while hunting food for the children. Hana's life as a single mother is difficult; Yuki and Ame constantly switch between their human and wolf forms, and Hana has to hide them from the world. How she struggled to live and raise her children is for you to know!

5) Spirited Away

The story is of Chihiro Ogino, a 10-year-old girl who, while moving to a new neighborhood, enters the world of spirits of Japanese Shinto folklore. After her parents are turned into pigs by the witch Yubaba, Chihiro takes a job working in Yubaba's bathhouse to find a way to free herself and her parents and return to the human world. This movie is widely considered as the best anime of all time! To know why? Grab some of your favorite snacks and munch on them watching this epic movie!

Disclaimer : The movies are listed without following any specific order. There might be some movies missing because there are movies which were made on the same anime shows.
